Learning to speak Japanese was one of the best decisions in my life. It opened up many job opportunities and allowed me to learn about another culture and make many new friends.

I really want to help my students "open up" their world by developing language skills.

My lessons are mostly conversation based. They focus on clear, effective communication - pronunciation, common patterns in speech, how to manage difficult conversations (asking for help, asking for easier words). I also focus on helping my students learn how to study effectively in their own time.

The lessons should also be fun and interesting, because that's when we learn best. Lesson content can be based around students' interests, work or general life. Using content we are familiar with really helps us learn. We should take our study seriously, but also try to have some fun as we go!

I have been teaching English as a second language for 10 years. I have taught General English, Business English and Test Preparation. . I speak Japanese so I my speciality is supporting Japanese learners but I have helped students of all levels from all over the world.
I am less experienced as a Japanese language tutor but I used Japanese language in my work (retail & tourism) for over 30 years and I am an experienced language teacher. I can provide my students with real-world insights and tips.
