Hi there, I have been teaching and tutoring primary and secondary school children since 1996 both in a formal school setting within a general classroom as well as in Learning Support and through private tutoring. I have a Masters in Education (Learning Support). I enjoy teaching students and seeing their positive responses when they are able to achieve something for the first time and gain increased confidence. I am patient and caring; working at the student's pace and providing encouragement. I like to tutor for an hour at a time and aim to provide a number of different activities depending on the age of the student and the areas requiring assistance.

In all instances my teaching is tailored to the needs and ability of the student as I seek to understand each student and what they require. Rather than teaching a particular subject my attitude is that I am teaching a person, regardless of their age or ability.

Experience

I have had more than 20 years experience tutoring students. I have a Masters in Education in Learning Support. I have also worked as a Learning Support Teacher assistant for a number of years in Brisbane. During this time I have had much success due to the one to one teaching that I provide to students. One of my aims is to improve the student's confidence in the subject. From this confidence comes improved results and understanding. I am able to tutor from year 5 to year 12 General Maths.
