Hello,

I specialise in tutoring maths. I have a passion to learn mathematics and to teach others. I am laid back and I try to make learning fun!!

Many students find maths scary, so I like to explain concepts in simple terms, using real life examples where possible and building from there.

I am available most evenings after work for an hour, or anytime over the weekend with some planning.

Tutoring can be a regular event, or just when you are struggling with a topic. I am happy to help out at short notice in preparation for a test or assignment. I have tutored students just prior to exams to quickly bring them up to speed, and to give exam technique ideas.

Where possible, I like to keep the calculator away as much as possible, having the student work from first principles, and to mentally picture situations and results.

Over the last 24 years I have mainly tutored High School mathematics - years 11 and 12. I have also tutored Primary school and high school (years 8-10).

Whilst I was a student at university I tutored up to 5 students each week.

Whilst I have been an Officer in the Air Force for the past 26 years, time constraints with work limited me to two students in any semester, and I was able to conduct 3 hour sessions on weekends.
