I am a teacher with over 40 years experience teaching Maths and Science. I have worked in NSW, Tasmania and the ACT. My most recent teaching experience is teaching years 11 and 12 Maths in Canberra which I did for 25 years. I taught all levels, from the equivalent of Extension 1 to General Maths and also taught Chemistry and Physics. I am now retired and have been tutoring for over three years.
Having taught, listened to and marked the papers of high school maths and science students I am knowledgeable of the concepts that can appear difficult to a student. I derive greatest satisfaction from finding where the student is at in their understanding and developing their understanding. One of my aims in tutoring is to build confidence in the student so that they look forward to maths. I can prepare worksheets when necessary.
My Working With Children check is current.

During this time of restricted contact (due to COVID19) I have moved all my students on to Skype, so I do not have to limit interested students to the Wollongong area. Individual on-line tutoring is now available.

Experience

I moved to Thirroul 10 years ago, and started tutoring over six years ago. I am available whenever it suits the student and will tutor students at all levels of high school maths on-line, in their homes or at a library if that is more suitable.

Qualifications

I have a BSc and Dip Ed from UNSW with majors in Maths and Statistics. I also studied Physics and Chemistry for that degree and have taught those subjects up to year 11 and 12.
