At the age of six, Kaywyn started playing piano and completed Grades 1-3 of practical and music theory exams from ABRSM in New Zealand. In 2009, after moving to Australia, she continued her piano exams from Grade 4 AMEB—AMusA under the tutelage of former Principal Examiner of AMEB Queensland, Helen Smith. In 2014, she was accepted as a student at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University (QCGU), and learnt under Oleg Stepanov during the three years of her Bachelor of Music degree.

From 2018-2021, Kaywyn taught piano part-time to beginning students at Music Schools Australia (MSA) (directed and managed by Helen Smith and John Masson) while also studying her Masters in Teaching (Secondary). After their retirement and permanent closure of MSA at the end of 2021, Kaywyn resumed to providing private lessons after pausing in 2020 while also currently teaching in high-school (Secondary Music, Junior Secondary Maths and Junior Secondary HPE).

Welcoming beginning students interested in learning to play piano or keyboard, or those at an intermediate level.
