Hello! My name is Aysha Galloway, and I am 25 years old from Sydney. I completed the HSC in 2017, receiving an ATAR of 92.45 and a Band 6 in English Advanced. I completed 4 unit English as part of my HSC, finishing with E3 in English Extension 1 and 2. I was in the top stream of my english classes from Years 7-12, receiving A range results in both analytical and creative work consistently. I am confident in the subject English, referring to both analytical, essay writing, and creative writing. I tutored consistently between 2018-2022, working with students from Year 7 to Year 12, and I am excited to get back into it! English is definitely where a great deal my passion lies, and I think having passion about the subject definitely adds to the experience of both teaching and being taught. There is always something to talk about!
I am a trained actor and filmmaker, graduating from Sydney Actors School with an Advanced Diploma of Acting for Contemporary Screen and Media in 2019. I also have a Diploma of Speech and Drama. I was the Performing Arts Captain at my high school in year 12, and Drama was always one of my favourite subjects. If you are looking for a Drama tutor who can confidently guide you through both theory and performance work, then I am definitely the tutor for you! I also have a wealth of experience with teaching drama to primary-aged children, working as a Drama Teacher for an after-school & holiday program from 2019-2022. Drama is a great way to build play and confidence with children of all ages, and working with students in that capacity always brought me a lot of joy.
I am similarly confident in (and passionate about) Visual Arts. I completed the subject for my HSC, receiving a high Band 5. All throughout Years 7-12, I received high A range results, including full marks, for my analytical work. I can help Senior Students tackle Year 12 Visual Arts Theory (Section 1 and 2 confidently), and can introduce Visual Arts to Primary Students. I would love to discuss art theory with you, or talk about the progress of your practical work. I have always loved art, and would really enjoy the opportunity to share this enthusiasm with others!
I am happy to meet at a student's place to tutor, and somewhere on the North Shore would be preferable! I can tutor after school during the week (including evenings), as well as on weekends, and you can choose the session duration. I charge $80/hr, and if you would like me to tutor two students from the same immediate family, the second student receives a 25% discount, bringing the rate down to $60/hr (this only applies if the sessions are back to back and eliminates travel time between the lessons).
I think that the most effective teachers are those in which you can see their love for their subject: I can assure you that I absolutely love English, Drama and Visual Arts. I also firmly believe in a safe and encouraging environment, in which the student feels comfortable to pose new ideas, take risks, and (most importantly) make mistakes. It is my aim to create this environment for each student, tailoring it to what they need and how they learn.

Experience
I graduated from Roseville College in 2017 and was consistently working as an English tutor between 2018-2022. I worked with students from Years 7-12, at all levels of confidence and competency, and I found it an incredibly enjoyable and rewarding job. I am a trained actor and filmmaker, so have extended my subjects to include Drama as well as English. My aim is to create an environment in which the student feels comfortable to ask questions, seek feedback, make mistakes and know that that's okay. I believe that is the best way to learn, and I always strive to create a kind, warm, safe and hard-working environment.
