Hi language learners,

I am very pleased to introduce myself as a Mandarin tutor to you.

My bachelor’s degree was Chinese Language and Literature from Hunan Normal University. I obtained certain qualifications related to Mandarin Speaking and Chinese Handwriting during this period (these were prerequisites to become a teacher in China). I also joined the choir during study, and I can sing many Chinese traditional songs.

After graduation, I worked as an editor for a Chinese business magazine in Beijing, with my articles published on the magazine frequently. Meanwhile, I completed my first part-time post-graduate study which was specialized in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language in Beijing Normal University. I chose this course because I knew many people from other countries were very interested in Chinese learning. I deeply love Chinese language and culture, and I wish to help them, not only how to speak in Chinese, but also with Chinese culture. For example, l will combine teaching Chinese songs (traditional or popular) in tutoring for those who love singing.

Now I work in Sydney as a tax accountant, because I studied another two overseas master’s degree after working for several years in Beijing, one from the University of Leicester in the UK with MA – Globalization and Communication, one from the University of Adelaide in SA Australia with MA- Accounting and Finance. I made progress for my English, I mastered a new skill – accounting, meanwhile, I did not give up my Chinese language and intercultural communication dream. I keep reading Chinese Classics, and furthermore, I passed the examination and obtained the certificate of Senior Chinese Language Teacher issued by International Profession Certification Association in Aug. 2024.

No matter how old you are, what you have studied before, what job/jobs you are doing, only if you feel interested in something, are you able to learn it and master it. Besides, you need a professional tutor who is passionate about what he/she is tutoring.
