I am a UK-born Anglo-French-Australian who moved to Tasmania in 2013. With a degree in Natural Sciences from Cambridge and a PGCE in Secondary Science, I have taught Biology and Mathematics in British and Australian classrooms for over 10 years. My familiarity with multiple subjects (Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, French) means I can help you, or your child, with several subjects - even within one session!

Knowing your subject(s) is not enough to be a good and effective tutor - you have to know how to transmit your knowledge, in many different ways and using different media, to your students! Having taught in many mixed-ability classrooms, I have extensive and varied experience of helping students with different learning styles understand complex concepts.

Experience

I have tutored many dozens of students across three different educational systems: British (10 years), French (10 years) and Australian (8 years). Many of my students have gone on to study Medicine, Dentistry and scientific subjects at university. In addition, I have practised as a fully qualified classroom teacher in the UK and Australia for over 17 years, accumulating much experience in teaching Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry (A-level, Baccalaureate, Tasmanian exams). I have also tutored adults in French from beginner to advanced level. I have tutored some students continuously for several years (up to five) from secondary school through to pretertiary classes and beyond to university level. Within the Tasmanian TASC system, I have experience of tutoring Chemistry 4, Physical Sciences 3, Biology 3, Maths Methods 4, Maths Methods Foundation 3, General Maths 3 and General Maths Foundation 2.
