He is probably the best japanese tutor out there in Sydney. Both my sister and I got tutored from KM as well as other friends. My grades went from C to an A and I was able to score a band 6 in HSC. He really knows how to prepare you for exams especially HSC, allowing you to fully practise and be confident. His lessons are always enjoyable. Definitely recommended! |

Kang Min sensei provided a range of worksheets to practice and drill correct grammar and translating, which really helped with making me comfortable with the language. He also provided a list of speaking questions that I prepared answers for each week which was great at forcing me to consider the accuracy and structure of my answers to every question. |

I had been a long-term student at KM Japanese, studying for HSC Japanese Continuers preparation. The lessons were structured in an efficient manner for writing, speaking, vocabulary and grammar studies. Materials were put together by Kangmin Sensei and was tailored to my needs when required. There were times where Japanese teachers would visit from Japan so I had the chance to practice speaking with native speakers too. The lessons were always engaging with your language learning supported by cultural insights. There were lessons also available targeted towards your personal goals/challenges such as JLPT or Japanese speech contests. Overall, I cannot recommend KM Japanese enough! |

Kang Min was an excellent Japanese teacher who I had found about halfway through my HSC year. My around average grades were what urged me to search for a Japanese tutor and after going through multiple tutors (that obviously weren't helping my grades much) I somehow ended up tutoring with Kang Min. It was a shame I hadn't decided to go tutoring here sooner because during the 2 semesters I studied with him, my Japanese had improved immensely, eventually leading me to receive a Band 6 for my HSC (I would like to say that the outcome was all due to me and my efforts but credit must be given where it is due haha). All jokes aside, Kang Min was a patient and knowledgeable teacher who I had fun learning from. I highly recommend him to all students studying Japanese (even the ones with relatively high grades) and hope you all benefit from the experience as I had. To all the students reading my comment - good luck with your studies!!! I wish you all the best :) |

At the time I went to Homebush Boys and I studied Japanese through Open Highschool for years 11 and 12.
I was a bad student who would miss 17 consecutive weeks of homework. As a result, the teacher from the Open Highschool would force me to come to their school grounds, else they would fail me.
Thanks to Kangmin sensei's guidance, I achieved a final score of 97/100 and came 3rd out of the Open highschool cohort of what must've been several hundred students.
I still used Japanese after highschool for extra-curricular activites like leading tours around Sydney University for the Japanese Culutural Appreciation society (WASABI).
Kangmin sensei was definitely an influential teacher in my life. |

KM Sensei (Chief Teacher) is passionately dedicated to his students so that they can attain the highest possible potential. My first child got a band 6, and the result was a synergistic effect that gives my son a wider range of majors to choose from. Also, my second child won first place in the HSC that year and, together with the first-place students in all other HSC subjects, earned the award from the NSW Prize at UNSW University, giving me such an honor and unforgettable moment.
Personally, I think language study is a subject that should be steadily built up. And what impressed me the most is that despite having 30 years of teaching experience, carefully selected HSC textbooks, and the latest HSC guidelines, teacher KM emphasized the sincerity and patience of the students who do their homework well and do not skip classes. I did Japanese Beginners for my HSC in 2019 and received support from KM sensei since year 11. I initially had zero interest in Japanese and simply did it for the HSC scaling. After struggling to keep up with classes in school, I decided to join KM Japanese for tutoring, and I'm very glad I did. Kang Min sensei was such a friendly, but without a doubt professional person. You could tell he was very experienced through the way he'd spot my weaknesses and provide targeted support using his own tailored resources.
