I had studied Japanese for several years and had taken a year long break after my last Japanese teacher returned to Japan.
After meeting Sakura-san at a community Japanese lesson, I was amazed to see a highly trained Japanese teacher at work.
I enquired about lessons and have commenced lessons early this year.
Sakura-san is a wonderful teacher.
She has a deep understanding of the various subtleties of Japanese culture, language and social issues that were important to me as I wish to return to Japan to teach.
The lessons we are doing are structured and tailored to my needs.
We cover casual, polite and formal Japanese conversation and learn the nuance of Japanese culture and communication.
I thoroughly enjoy the class with Sakura-san and have found the guidance as to how I may practice in between lessons and the targeting of my language and cultural needs extremely helpful.
I have learned new ways of practice and am learning Hiragana quite quickly.
I feel encouraged by her enthusiasm and her skill.
Sakura-san is a highly intelligent and gifted teacher and she adjusts her skills to suit my varying language knowledge and needs.
I would consider Sakura-san able to assist any student regardless of skill level.
She is a very experienced teacher and I enjoy her lessons immensely.
She creates lessons that are fun and focused.
I would recommend Sakura-san to anyone wishing to learn Japanese. |

After a long search for a suitable online Japanese teacher I found Sakura san, and I could not be happier with the quality of the classes she delivers. In a short period of time I have improved my Japanese skills (reading, speaking and listening) considerably and she has helped me a lot by being patient and knowing how to adjust the class to my level. She is helping me prepare the N5 JLPT exam and she is very knowledgeable about the preparation of the test, giving me tips and teaching me how to properly answer and read the questions.
She also provides additional material for me to study at home, something that I really appreciate. Her English is great and you can easily tell that she is an expert in teaching Japanese by the way she explains grammar.
Japanese would not be the same if you did not understand their culture. Sakura is able to both teach the language and explain the nuances and interesting facts about the way Japanese people like to communicate and socially behave.
I would recommend Sakura to anybody interested in taking Japanese classes. The way she delivers online classes is amazing. Before COVID I was never too keen on taking online classes but after the experience with Sakura I can say that is perfectly feasible and the connection and sound quality is really good. She is able to write anything in a digital board and she is also able to play listening exercises from her computer. There is really no difference between an on-site class and a virtual one with her. |

I found Ms Sakura via TutorFinder after hit-and-miss experiences with various local language schools. Having studied a bit of Japanese in high school, my skills needed a serious brush-up to interact with my Japanese business clients. Sakura-san exceeded my expectations - she tailored the tuition to my level and specific needs, was patient and thorough, corrected my many errors without criticism, and had a way of making every lesson fun. While I will never speak Japanese perfectly, Sakura-san helped me meet my learning goals for social and business Japanese. She is highly professional and experienced, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. |
