I'm a Year 12 student and I've been at Real Value Tuition for almost 2 years now, and based on my honest opinion (not having bias opinions), Owen is truly an amazing motivational tutor that is so passionate about teaching and helping students achieve their best in exams. I have never met anyone so passionate in maths before it really amazes me and makes me surprised. I have never been really good at maths and have been struggling over the past couple of years, and out of all the Maths tutors I have had for almost 10 years, I genuinely think that Owen is really exceptional tutor and is willing to help you achieve the score if you also work very hard towards your goals. The environment here is so nice, surrounded by numerous individuals who are so dedicated to their work and ever since he expanded into a bigger tutoring centre, I've been so proud of his tutoring centre getting bigger and bigger by day. Honestly, if I knew earlier about this place, I would've went and joined as soon as possible, (I know this is very dramatic but just knowing I'll miss this place a lot by the time I graduate, surrounded by happy, funny people is gonna hit me soon.) |

After working with Owen and other tutors there for over a year, I haven't had a single session where I didn't walk away with a deeper grasp of maths and a better perspective on life. Most tutoring companies just force you through rigid textbooks and dump heaps of questions on you, hoping something sticks. Owen is completely different. I am a year 12 student who has been with RVT for around 2 years now. During my earlier, formative years of high school I attended many popular franchise tutoring centres, spending multiple hours a week learning maths in school and afterwards in tutoring, but I still wasn't improving nor enjoying myself. In 2024 I ended up deciding to try out Real Value Tuition and I have stayed ever since.
Owen fosters a certain ambience and community at RVT which simply cannot be replicated by other centres, as both his tutors and other students are all lovely and friendly. If your child is currently struggling like I was; finding it difficult to understand content while they fall behind other students at school, RVT might be the perfect solution compared to other tutors—who are required to follow strict and reused curriculums while teaching classes so large that it is difficult to get enough help and attention for improvement.
Not only is the vibe great, but Owen himself is an amazing maths teacher who breaks down topics coherently and at a digestible pace, tailoring his methods to accommodate each student's particular needs. He employs an interactive method with ipads during group lessons, allowing students to solve problems independently before offering help and explaining + clarifying formulas on the board which I find very helpful.
Over the past two years, Owen has helped me gain more confidence—and even a gradual appreciation of maths, and this is coming from an english-leaning student who has always hated, and struggled with maths since a young age. I am eternally grateful for the extra support Owen offers and the priceless advice, and motivational speeches that he has given me, especially during the stressful lead-up to my HSC. RVT provides an incredible service. Prior to starting sessions, i was struggling heavily with maths. I felt so overwhelmed to the point where I couldn't even begin a question and started to doubt whether I should continue with the subject altogether. It wasn't until I started sessions with Owen that I was able to see that I was capable of understanding. His ability to breakdown concepts, remain engaging and explain the "why" behind everything is genuinely a style of teaching that saved my marks. This approach has not only improved my marks, but improved my confidence across all subjects and changed my perspective on learning altogether. I've been attending RVT for about a year now, and the quality of teaching is absolutely superb! Owen gives very useful personalised feedback and actually teaches mathematical concepts instead of just rote memorisation. I've encountered many questions that test conceptual understanding, and also many complex original questions that Owen comes up with to specifically target my weaknesses! Also, questions and queries are answered very quickly online! All in all, I've had a super enjoyable learning experience here, would recommend 100%! |

With over 200 lessons with the tutor (Owen), without fail each lesson I am able to enrich my understanding of maths content as well as gain valuable insights and perspectives about life in the coming future. Real Value Tuition is an amazing centre to learn maths from. The tutor (Owen) is passionate and very knowledgeable in teachings. The environment in the centre is always friendly and you're able to talk and ask about anything. Highly recommend. Real Value Tuition links mathematic concepts with real life examples, deepning student's understanding of maths. Owen, the tutor, is an incredibly dedicated teacher who values the wellbeing of his students. Small-group classes available both online and in-person (less than 5 min. away from Burwood Station) provides a comfortable learning environment for students to grow and learn in.
I went from receiving test scores varying within the 60-70% range, to scoring a 98%, with only 8 weeks of joining RVT.
Classes include proper equipment, including scientific calculators, a fully-stocked fridge, touch screen iPads, and other interactive tools benefitting student's learning.

Owens is right in front of you and suddenly there's a light at the tunnel called Owen’s air conditioning saving you from being cooked alive!
I too was once a young student studying at a very tiring tutoring place that also rhymes with ‘pee-ness education’. And I speak from experience when I say that it had arduous hours or hard work, pain, suffering, yet no result. Now, I wonder back to why I suffered? All this time I could have gone to Owen, a great 3 in 1 teacher who is so great that I leave rejuvenated after tutoring class.
