I was looking for a qualified experienced tutor for my son who needed some help in reading & writing. I did not want him sitting in front of a computer program - supervised by a college student. He needed someone to help him understand the foundation of reading & writing. Looking thru Miriam was my first choice (& only choice) based on her profile. Miriam understands my sons strengths & weaknesses and has tailored her tuition to suit his needs. She gives him lots of encouragement and praise in her sessions. My son in Year 9 and daughter in Year 11 have been taking English lessons for almost two years. Miriam has not only taken them to the top of their classes but has also changed their attitude and feeling towards other school subjects. I started tutoring with Miriam in Year 11 in 2018 and continued all the way through to the end of Year 12 in 2019. Throughout that time, she was an incredible support — not only in helping me improve my writing skills, but also in navigating the demands of senior English assessments.
Miriam had a clear and structured approach to teaching, and she always took the time to explain things thoroughly. She helped me break down essay questions, plan my responses effectively, and refine my writing style. I genuinely felt more confident going into assessments and exams thanks to her guidance.
Beyond her teaching, Miriam was always warm, encouraging, and patient. I always felt comfortable asking questions, and she created a really positive learning environment.

Miriam has been working with our Year 12 son for around 8 months and is quite simply fantastic. Miriam is the next step up from your everyday tutor seeking extra income - she has a wealth of resources and systems to help our son to reach top results. Miriam helps him with his school assignments and teaches him new skills and techniques. We couldn't be more pleased with the relationship she has with Daniel and the benefit he receives.
