As a parent, I've been very impressed with Hoyt's ability to convey important concepts and details to better teach my child. In his english tutoring, my son wasn't just taught to 'analyse more', or memorise the same paragraph structures over and over again, but rather he was taught more thoroughly about the process of analytical thinking. My son said himself that he actually really likes how Hoyt taught him, so I'm really glad! His mathematics tutoring is also great so far, just as expected from such an amazing english tutor. He also conveniently sends recap notes to me after each sessions, and sets targeted and detailed homework, so that my son can get the best out of his work. |

My son has been working with Hoyt for 26 weeks in preparation for the selective school test, and we have seen measurable improvement in both his academic performance and his confidence. From the start Hoyt took a structured and methodical approach. He started by assessing our son’s weaknesses in mathematical reasoning and reading comprehension, then created a clear study plan with personalised weekly homework. What I love most is Hoyt’s emphasis on genuine conceptual understanding. He focuses on step-by-step reasoning and disciplined problem solving, and our son is now noticeably more analytical.

Joy is extremely introverted, so we were honestly really nervous to start tutoring. She doesn't talk much and is shy when it comes to meeting new people. It's been 8 weeks and what surprises me the most is how she looks forwards to each lesson. Hoyt has been patient from the start, and always explains carefully, and makes sure she doesn't feel embarrassed when she gets a question wrong. I am excited to keep Hoyt as a long term tutor, as she is preparing for the upcoming selective exam. |

This is only my child's first non-trial lesson, and I was next to him while he was getting tutored. He is highly effective, though he was late for the first paid lesson.
To me this cost is more than worth it as Hoyt does in fact provide homework and resources like he said he would, and to my surprise, he even tested my son during the trial lesson, so he could see where he was at.
I am very proud to support such a young boy tutoring at such a high level. |
