Tim has been the best help for me over the past 3 years and helped me succesfully complete aMus with a very good mark. He helped me prepare and he is very patient and very funny. Tim prepared me for both my CMus and AMus exams with a level of insight I had not encountered before. His teaching extended well beyond simply learning the notes. He consistently drew attention to musical context, stylistic nuance, and interpretive detail, offering feedback that my previous teachers had not addressed.
This approach made a clear difference in both my understanding and performance. I achieved a High Distinction in CMus and a Pass in AMus, outcomes I attribute in large part to his guidance.

My son Daniel passed his Grade 5 AMEB exam with High Distinction thanks to Tim. He is a very wonderful teacher and can explain things in a way that is easy to understand, using good analogies and examples.
Over the year, Daniel improved a lot. Before he was playing because I told him to practice, but now he plays with more elegance and passion. We can really see the difference in his attitude and the way he understands music.
Recently he also become interested in opera, which we never expected. It really brings more music into our house. Tonight we are going to see The Phantom of the Opera at Handa Opera and he is very excited.
Thank you so much Tim for everything, we really appreciate it and highly recommend him. |

Tim helped me a lot with understanding differential equations and eigenvalues. Before, I just follow the steps and memorise, but I don’t really know what is happening. With Tim, he explain very clearly and also show how to visualise the ideas, which make it much easier to understand.
He guide me through concepts step by step and always make sure I understand the meaning, not just how to solve. Especially for eigenvalues and systems, he showed how it works geometrically, which I never learnt before.
Because of this, I feel much more confident in maths now and can solve problems with more understanding instead of guessing. Thank you Tim for your help and patience, I really appreciate it. |

Tim helped me improve a lot in debating, especially in how to structure layered rebuttal. Before, I would just respond to one point at a time, but he showed me how to stack responses, weigh arguments, and collapse the debate properly. It made my speeches much more clear and impactful.
He also explains strategy in a very practical way, like how to control the debate, identify the main clash, and choose what actually matters to win. This changed how I approach both prep and delivery.
Knowing that Tim won the Premier’s Debating Challenge, competed in many other national level events like ASO and MASDC also gave me a lot of confidence in his guidance, because he has actually done it at a very high level.
Overall, I improved a lot under him and feel much more confident going into debates. Thank you Tim for all your help. |
