When I first started with Elisabeth in the middle of Year 11, I knew almost nothing about French—barely understanding how to conjugate avoir or être in the present tense. Fast forward just a year, and I’m not only able to confidently speak and write in French, but I’m also achieving top marks.
Honestly, Elisabeth is hands down the best teacher I’ve ever had. Her dedication and thoroughness make all the difference—she never takes shortcuts, which means I now approach French with true confidence. Whether it's speaking, writing, or understanding grammar, I know I’ve built a solid foundation under her guidance.
If you're considering French lessons, I can't recommend Elisabeth enough. She’s truly changed the course of my academic journey, and I’m certain that thanks to her, I’ll be able to achieve my dream of studying medicine.

Elisabeth is an absolutely beautiful teacher who takes her work seriously, and goes above and beyond for her students. I’ve had the pleasure of being taught by Elisabeth for the past year and a half, and have seen huge improvements in my French skills and confidence in the language. As a Year 12 student, I found her knowledge and past experience working in the VCAA system to be incredibly useful. I’m constantly amazed by her wealth of resources, but also grateful for the time she has taken to prepare her lessons beforehand and correct my work. She is certainly selfless and kind! Elisabeth has learnt her craft, and I am so grateful for all her help! Highly recommend to future French students - but also anyone who is interested in learning French for fun. |

Elisabeth is a great French teacher and a wonderful person. I have been having lessons for 6 months and I am amazed at how much I have learned in this time. Not only is Elisabeth originally from France, but she has spent many years teaching French in schools so you will not find someone better suited to teaching French than her. Every lesson is well structured because she prepares each lesson beforehand just for me and this makes each lesson with her very enjoyable. Learning another language is not easy, and you do need to work at it, but with her teaching and guidance, I am learning so much and it is an absolute pleasure. Thank you so much. Je vous remerci. |

Elisabeth is a wonderful lady and an awesome French teacher. A true professional, she keeps notes on your progress to provide tailored lessons to your needs. With her personal teaching knowledge and the extensive resources at her disposal, you can learn just the French you need for your trip or learn the language to fluency at a timeframe suitable to your ability.
In three months I have gone from no French at all to being able to put together simply structured sentences in the present tense in coherent and informative prose. Elisabeth teaches and drills all aspects of language - pronunciation and speaking, listening, writing and reading comprehension. Learning a language is difficult but I'm confident Elisabeth can take me to fluency! |

Elisabeth is one of, if not the best, teachers I have had in my life. She is extremely well prepared, very
organised and takes a great deal of interest in making sure you understand the language. She progresses
only when you have understood the current concept. In my case I was on a set time frame so she pushed
me however it was still very structured and I was able to keep up.
Above all Elisabeth is passionate in what she is doing and this enthusiasm rubs off on you.
I am off to France however will be straight back as soon as I return to maintain and improve.

When I decided to leave my university degree, I figured it would be perfect timing to start studying French.
I found Elisabeth, emailed her and received a response almost instantaneously.
Elisabeth creates a great first experience with the language as she gauges each students learning capacity and prior
knowledge. She provides homework activities and creates lessons that are tailored to your personality. Her knowledge is
astounding and I'm in awe at how far I've progressed.
Working full time may seem like there is no time in the world for anything else. But, you'll be surprised after dedicating time
to something truly worth while.
My lessons are the highlight of my week and if I ever make it to France, I'm sneaking Elisabeth in my suitcase. |

Madame John has been a wonderful French tutor for me. I initially enganged her services to revive my schoolboy French for a cycling trip to the Loire. Our success with this exceeded all my expectations. To my surprise and delight, on my trip to France I could not just order from the menu but could engage in lively and meaningful dialogue with my hosts ( my grammar did tend to fall apart after a few glasses of the local wine).
I am now continuing with my lessons in preparation for another visit, this time to Alsace. I am also developing a better appreciation for French litterature. As you can see, I am in love with the language.
I can sincerely recommend Madame John as a tutor. Although she insists on a high standard from her students, her lessons are always fun and her love of the French language is contagious. |

My son (12) had a short time to develop his french before starting at a french speaking school in New Caledonia this year. I highly recommend Elisabeth for anyone wanting to learn French.
I learnt French in high school and decided to pick up the language again as an adult learner. Elisabeth is by far the best teacher I have had. She has an infectious enthusiasm for the French language and culture and is exceptionally good at teaching. Her many years of experience in Victoria teaching the VCE and IB has meant that she has a large amount of resources and she is able to quickly cater each lesson to the individual. I have also noticed that Elisabeth does a great deal of tailored preparation prior to each lesson. In addition, she is an extremely patient and encouraging teacher, and really goes out of her way to communicate key concepts.
Being a university student and having a part time job, the spare time I have is limited. Elisabeth has made sure that each lesson is well worth my time. I thoroughly enjoy going to my French lessons and owe a great deal of my progress and love of the language and culture to Elisabeth's exceptional teaching. |

Elisabeth is an excellent tutor among the best I know of! Currently doing French beginners through distance education I found it
very hard to be completely independent in completing my work, was getting an average of around 40-50% , I was slow at
completing my work and was generally losing enthusiasm for the language and my motivations behind it. But with Elisabeth's
tutoring I found myself excelling above the pack, finishing my work quicker and getting a weekly average of 96% for my work!
Not to mention my love for the language itself was re ignited.
Elisabeth is very accurate, sharp and clear in her tutoring yet very sweet and motivational at the same time, (mind you, all the
best ones are). She has a habit of going over time also, so your both entirely sure you understand the subject or concept being
conveyed. Mais, c'est la vie!
