Han Laoshi is an incredible tutor. I owe so much to her for the guidance, support and mentorship she has offered to me these last few years. I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting to develop their existing Chinese skills, or those wishing to pick up a new language and become immersed in Chinese culture.
For me, Chinese was always one of the most rewarding yet also challenging subjects. I first picked up Chinese in Year 7, and for my Year 11 and 12 studies I chose to undertake Chinese B (Standard Level) within the IB Program. I was initially intimidated by the demands of the course. Looking back, I needn’t have worried – Han Laoshi worked with me to actively prepare for each assessment, boosting my confidence in the language and ultimately helping me achieve my goals.
Han Laoshi is extremely dedicated, caring and patience. Over the past few years, my Chinese language abilities have dramatically improved. And I am most grateful for confidence I now have in Chinese oral communication – a skill I believe will serve me for life. I could not recommend her more highly. |

As an ABC I have regretted not continuing to study and develop my Chinese language abilities. In 2016 at the beginning of year 11 I made the decision to start learning Chinese again. However, I was at a loss for where to begin and how to start.
Thankfully in this vast world, I managed to meet Selina Han, a passionate, warm and caring Chinese tutor. Selina is a dedicated individual that has served as a mentor for me throughout my VCE Chinese Second Language Studies, making language learning engaging and relevant for my everyday as well as future life. Selina is also a Chinese teacher at a very good school, and it’s evident that her wealth of knowledge in teaching kids young and old, both from Chinese and non Chinese backgrounds makes her such a fantastic person to be around!
Towards the end of year 12, I struggled with preparing my VCE General Conversation and Detailed Study material. There was a period where I lost motivation and did not want to study or practise for any of my external assessments at all. During this time, Selina spent more time supporting my Chinese studies, keeping her phone line open and basically going above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that I was not only ready, but ready to shine with confidence and passion.
Therefore, I feel extremely lucky to have found Selina through Tutor Finder. Over the last two years, Selina Han has rekindled and nurtured my Chinese language abilities back to life, and I look forward to continuing this journey with her as I complete a Diploma in Chinese concurrently with my bachelor. I couldn’t have found a better Chinese tutor and would highly recommend her services for any student no matter where they are in this lifelong Chinese language journey! |

Han Laoshi has made my chinese level improve a whole lot. She has given me the confidence to prepare for my oral examination (general conversation and detailed study). She has also helped me improve the standard of my essays to an average of 18/20. Moreover, after attending a few lessons, I have managed to average an A+ in my SACs. Overall, she is a very understanding and patient tutor who is also willing to adjust to your own needs in Chinese. |

Selina has tutored my daughter throughout her VCE year this year (Chinese SL) and has been of great benefit to her. Selina's knowledge of the VCE curriculum and VCE examination requirements has helped my daughter greatly with her preparation for her final exams.
