Alka is incredibly knowledgeable in her areas of chemistry and biology and taught me more than my teacher at school ever did. She is very kind and warm and never made me feel embarrassed to ask questions or stupid for not understanding something. She explains things well and is patient. Additionally, I have had many tutors and despite being the highest qualified, her pricing was the most reasonable. It was clear that she actually cared about how I did, offering more flexibility as exams approached and checking up on how I went etc. She is an excellent tutor and I would recommend her to anyone. |

My daughter Haylee studied maths and biology with Alka for the last semester of yr 12. Alka is a patient and very knowlegeable teacher. Haylee's marks improved from a C- to a very high B in her final exams. This result got her an offer to uni for her first choice subject. My only regret is that we did not connect with Alka via tutor finder earlier, had Haylee had more time with Alka I'm sure the results would have been even more impressive. |

I had met with Alka over the last five weeks for two hours each session to study a statistics course for psychology.
Alka is easy-going, patient, approachable, and has a passion for teaching/learning. Alka was a fantastic tutor for statistics as she has a very thorough knowledge base for this course. Alka is one of the best teachers I have had as she radiates enthusiasm and interest in both statistics and teaching. Throughout the tutoring sessions Alka showed patience, explained complex topics by linking together simple ideas, and made me want to learn more about the subject that I had previously feared. Alka always made sure I had a thorough understanding of topics before moving on, which was very helpful for learning the foundations of statistics. Alka has good time management and we were able to go over each weeks topics during each of the sessions without running out of time. I was able to work with Alka through a number of practice questions and concepts over the five weeks and gain a much better understanding of statistics.
Alka had assisted me with passing my statistics course and I received an even better mark than I had aimed for.
I highly recommend Alka to colleagues, friends or family who are seeking out a tutor for their studies.
If I require tutoring in the future I Alka will be the first person I will ask if she is available due to my positive previous experience!
