I currently have one after-school lesson time available each week: Fridays at 4pm.

I may also be able to accommodate some students who have early finishes and can attend 3pm lessons on Mondays, Tuesdays or Fridays or 3:30pm on Thursdays.

I am now taking requests for my 2027 waiting lists. If you would like to be placed on the waiting list, please send me an email and I will be in touch in December to collect your preferences for lesson times and days. Waitlisted students are also contacted when one-off sessions become available due to cancellations, and have access to holiday lessons at the end of each term.

Congratulations to my Class of 2025 students - you faced the exceptional challenges of your secondary school years with courage and persistence.

I am an English & Drama teacher with many years of experience teaching in the secondary school classroom and as a private tutor. I specialise in Gifted Education as well as equipping students with techniques to overcome learning difficulties. Alongside mainstream English subjects, I am also a passionate teacher of English Language and Literature subjects up to and beyond VCE level.

Lessons are currently available via Zoom, in accordance with current student and family preference. In-person lessons can be organised in the lead up to performance exams and auditions.

I have tutored students of all ages, from their first efforts to read aloud, to tackling their first essay, through to their final VCE Exams.

I am also a VCAA assessor and examiner, with experience in VCE English, English Language, Literature, Drama and Theatre Studies. I am VIT registered, ensuring students get the highest quality educational experience and support.

My passion is to help individuals uncover their creative potential in writing, public speaking, and musical and theatrical performance. My students learn the structures required by the task at hand and then extend their own personal voice to make the text their own.

My finely-honed and flexible approach includes thousands of resources to aid each individual student, whether newly tackling a task or looking for extra engagement, to build their skills beyond their current level.

I offer individualised, structured lessons designed to allow students to gain knowledge and practise skills, including those required for scholarship and select entry tests.

ESSAY WRITING: Constructing essays and exploring topics in detail does not come naturally to everyone. To aid students who wish to improve their skills, I have constructed a step-by-step course which targets all aspects of essay writing, from nailing the basic structure through to advancing current vocabulary control and exploring ideas deeply.

Academic students are encouraged to send through their recent school work to the initial sessions, for assessment and extension. Afterward, targeted and customised worksheets and notes will be provided to extend learning. Homework can be designed to feed back directly into their existing curriculum, not necessarily adding extra time to their existing workload.

I also highly recommend the services of two former students of mine, who are currently offering tutorials, so please get in touch if you would like their contact details:

Amy Tu: offering VCE English Language tutorials in Burwood.

Chloe Campbell: offering English tutorials for primary and secondary school students. Available online and in-person in the Kew area.
