[ Japanese ]
Before coming to Australia, I was a professionally trained Japanese speaker on TV and radio in Japan. I had worked on TV news, music, sports, and variety programs as a presenter/announcer, permanently and directly hired by ABC Station in Japan. NHK (the national TV station) and major companies published documentary videos and DVDs using my Japanese narration. I was also a professional writer for newspapers, magazines, and online articles. So, I am not only a native Japanese speaker and qualified school teacher, but also a professional speaker with precise pronunciation and accent, as well as a professional writer in Japan.
In Australia, I am a qualified school teacher and have taught Japanese from primary to Year 12 students in several private schools in WA. I have also taught Japanese in a private language school in Broadbeach, from beginners to level 4 students, for half a year. In my class, Australian school teachers who teach Japanese in primary and high schools came to learn more advanced Japanese skills from me. Additionally, I have been tutoring people at different Japanese levels (including university students and Australian Japanese teachers) for 15 years. My tutoring has helped some of my students receive scholarships to study in Japan.
I adjust to students’ requests as much as possible (e.g. grammar-based, conversation-based, activity- or culture-based learning, learning Japanese through songs, etc.). I have travelled all over Japan, and I’m sure my rich experience can help satisfy your curiosity about the Japanese language and culture.
[ Music - Piano, Theory, Voice, Musicianship ]
My teaching qualification (Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education) is specialised in Music and Japanese. I have taught Music in classroom settings and have also focused on individual piano teaching.
• Piano / Theory :
I’ve taught piano to students ranging from 3 years old to adults, catering to their various needs and learning styles. I incorporate theory into the lessons but always encourage students to enjoy the process of making music. Having a favourite song is often the fastest and most enjoyable way to improve.
• Voice & Musicianship:
I also offer voice coaching.
I've taught Music in schools as a qualified school teacher in WA. In addition, I’ve worked professionally as a TV and radio presenter and narrator in both Japan and Australia, and have used my voice as a professional musician and artist for a long time.
I am also a government-certified Sound Healer in Australia, a qualified hypnotherapist, and a trauma reset therapist. In these roles, I have been using my voice to support and soothe people’s hearts on a deeper level.
In addition to my work as a music teacher, I am also an active professional musician. Since moving to Queensland, I have performed on major stages such as BEMAC (Brisbane Multicultural Arts Centre), QPAC (Queensland Performing Arts Centre), the Conservatorium at Griffith University, BrisAsia Festival, and the Japan Festival etc...
Whether you're learning music for fun or aiming to become a professional performer, feel free to get in touch—I'd be happy to support your journey.
