Chiho is a kind, talented, and dedicated teacher with a wonderful sense of humour. We have been taking weekly Japanese lessons with her since September 2025, and she took the time from the very beginning to understand what each of us wanted to achieve. As a trilingual learner, my goal was to strengthen my grammar, improve fluency, and work towards passing JLPT N4, while my partner, who is monolingual, wanted to focus on speaking more fluently. Chiho tailored our lessons carefully to suit our different goals and learning styles, and balanced them seamlessly within each session.
She is fluent in both English and Japanese, and her knowledge of Mandarin Chinese is also extremely helpful in explaining language concepts clearly and efficiently. These strong language skills, combined with her thoughtful teaching approach, have helped me grow significantly in vocabulary, grammar, and most importantly, confidence in speaking Japanese. She also makes lessons engaging and enjoyable by incorporating paired speaking activities and practical conversation, which makes learning feel natural rather than forced.
Chiho is also my piano teacher, and she brings the same patience and clarity to her music lessons. She explains technical concepts very clearly and simplifies them so that even a complete beginner like me can understand them easily. She understands that adult learners have other commitments, and to keep learning enjoyable, she thoughtfully selects music I genuinely want to play—such as easy Studio Ghibli pieces—so piano feels like a leisure activity rather than just practising for the sake of practising.
Our lessons are always filled with laughter, and I genuinely look forward to every session. I truly love learning with Chiho and cannot recommend her highly enough. |

As an adult learner I couldn’t have found a better tutor than Chiho! She started with the basics and made everything quite easy to understand. She is extremely knowledgeable and most of all, super encouraging and patient. She will gently push you out of your comfort zone and you’ll end up playing a lot better than you thought you could! Couldn’t recommend her enough |

Amazing piano tutor |

Ms Chiho has taught my daughter from a beginner to piano, to now she is able to read notes and practice playing multiple songs, within less than 3 months. Her listening skill and picking up on music theory have been shaped, which helps as a foundation for her to develop her brain and artistic skills later on as the lessons go on.
A very experienced and patient piano tutor, great with kids too as a bonus. Thank you Ms Chiho, we're so glad to have you as Thea's first tutor :-) |

She really helped me with my Japanese when I kept hitting the same roadblock over and over when self studying. She is very flexible in terms of what materials/textbooks you want to use to learn Japanese. Highly recommended tutor. |
