Hi, I'm Edwin - a dentist and passionate VCE tutor with 8 years of experience and 1000+ students behind me.
After achieving a 99.65 ATAR, I received multiple offers to study Medicine across Australia. I ultimately chose to follow my lifelong passion for dentistry, graduating on a scholarship with a Doctor of Dental Surgery from The University of Melbourne (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Biomedicine (First Class Honours). I also achieved High Distinctions in University Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
I know what it takes to get into Medicine, Dentistry, and the courses you're aiming for — because I've been through it myself. That's exactly why I tutor.
RESULTS & SUCCESS
Students don't just improve when they join — they consistently rank among Victoria's best.
2025: Highest 99.45 | Median ATAR 97.1
2024: Highest 99.6 | Median ATAR 97.05
2023: Highest 99.25 | Median ATAR 96.8
2022: Highest 99.6 | Median ATAR 96.65
2021: Highest 99.2 | Median ATAR 96.5
2020: Highest 99.15 | Median ATAR 96.2
2019: Highest 99.2 | Median ATAR 95.1
Every student has entered the course they aimed for — including medicine, dentistry, law, and competitive double degrees. Several have earned scholarships along the way.
WHAT'S THE SECRET TO THESE RESULTS? I personally tutor alongside a team of like-minded, highly experienced, and skilled tutors — and together we've built a system that consistently works. So how do we do it, year after year? Here's the system.
OUR 3-STAGE SYSTEM
Most tutoring stops at explanation. Ours doesn't.
STAGE 1 - UNDERSTAND
- Complex concepts broken down into plain English — no jargon, no confusion
- Visual explanations using diagrams and drawings to make abstract ideas concrete and easy to remember
- Calculator shortcuts for the TI-Nspire and Casio ClassPad that are rarely taught in class — the kind of time-savers that make a real difference under exam conditions
STAGE 2 - APPLY
- Exposure to tricky past SAC/exam questions, including every variation examiners like to use — leaving no surprises on exam day
- Going beyond what's taught at school, covering the nuanced differences in command terms that even many teachers aren't across
- Developing a repeatable recipe for each question type — a clear system of steps that removes guesswork and builds real exam confidence
STAGE 3 - MASTER
- Timed practice questions both in class and as homework
- Identifying weak spots and preparing targeted resources to close those gaps specifically, not generically
- Year 12 students receive weekly practice exams from April, giving them 6+ months of exam exposure before the real deal
PROGRESS REVIEW:
I personally monitor every student's progress, and where needed, sit down with the student and their parents for a dedicated gameplan session, mapping out exactly what needs to be done and how we're going to get there
HOLIDAY HEADSTART PROGRAM
Every school holidays, I run a fully prepared headstart program designed to give students a significant advantage going into the next term. Students enter each term already familiar with upcoming content — meaning less stress, more confidence, and a head start on their peers. Highest achieving students make this a regular part of their VCE journey. Ask about availability when you get in touch.
NOT JUST FOR STUDENTS ALREADY NEAR THE TOP
Two students came in averaging around 30%. By the end of the year, both were sitting at 75% — and more importantly, their confidence had completely transformed.
Another student scored 40% on his final Year 11 Chemistry exam. Through conceptual understanding and high-yield practice, he finished Year 12 ranked number 1 in his cohort.
In fact, many past students have achieved rank 1 at some of Victoria's most competitive schools — including Scotch College, Mac.Rob, Melbourne High, MLC, PLC, Haileybury, Camberwell Grammar, Melbourne Grammar, Mentone Girls' Grammar, and Box Hill High.
