What differentiates John's teaching from other tutors : John is senior tutor/lecturer at the Mathematical Sciences Institute at ANU. With over 10 years of teaching experience, John loves and cares about students and their progress in maths, physics, and chemistry. Many students who had experienced other tutors in the past agree that John's teaching especially helpful because he makes difficult concepts really easy to understand and interesting. He uses lots of everyday examples as analogy to draw connection to maths, physics, and chemistry. His teaching is concept-focused learning; he is passionate in making students really understand the concepts so that they can attempt worksheets on their own. John also helps with worksheet questions once students have enough understanding of concepts and his explanations are very clear and easy to understand. John always finds a way to make students understand fully the concepts and teqniques behind each question.

Also, he has developed a lot of easy-to-momorise techniques so students can not only learn concepts well but also apply the rules to get through questions. Classification of concepts are also very important; John often helps to create clear summary sheet with all the necessary information so that students can easily view all the concepts they have learnt and refresh their memory at one glance. This is especially useful if students often forget concepts.

His teaching is suitable for both advanced and struggling students. Advanced students can learn from John by mainly going through worksheet questions, while struggling students can benefit a lot from concept-focused teaching.

Medicine : Offers tuition in UCAT and GAMSAT for medicine entry. Over 20 students got into medicine through John's private tutoring. Last year my student Josi from CGGS got into medicine with ATAR over 99.
