Hello!

My name is Lauren and I have been a Primary school teacher for 30 years, ten of these years as a Lead teacher. I have worked in Independent schools in Sydney, Wollongong and Northern New South Wales. I have also recently completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts at Sydney University and am a practising artist.

For the past few years, I have been tutoring students after school, in my home or on Zoom, with much success . I am located in Leichhardt. Unfortunately, I do not travel to you.

My first priority for your child is to build confidence. It is my belief that by feeling supported in their learning , children will not feel afraid to ask questions or seek clarification (which may sometimes feel overwhelming in a classroom situation). I generally do not set online learning games and tasks, unless necessary to improve an outcome. It is a one to one session, either focussing on the basics, filling in gaps or conversely, extension work. My aim is always to help your child reach their potential in both English and Maths. I follow the latest curriculum guidelines.

I use my first sessions to assess where the gaps may be or where extension may occur. I am more than happy to provide specific support that their teachers may have identified. Whether it be comprehension, spelling, vocabulary building , grammar, punctuation or creative writing through to mathematical concepts and problem solving, I aim to build upon their current successes, be it small or large.
Once I ascertain your child's immediate needs, I will embark upon an individualised programme and give you regular updates. I am also happy to prepare students for NAPLAN.

I always endeavour to work as a team with both my students and their parents, helping to set achievable goals together. My students are happy to come! I am very approachable and try to make learning enjoyable :)

I have a current Working with Children Check.

I am currently fully booked but will have a vacancy from Term 4, 2026.

Best, Lauren
