---Greetings---

Learning Japanese is not difficult if you study using the right methods.

Over the years, I have taught Japanese to a vast number of people, ranging from students to adults.

Through this experience, I have developed a method that allows students to learn in a fun, efficient and fast-paced manner, whilst taking into account each individual’s learning objectives, current Japanese language skills and goals.

For native English speakers learning Japanese as a second language, it is essential to establish a clear strategy, use systematic and easy-to-understand teaching materials, and study in a step-by-step manner.

Furthermore, since each student’s Japanese proficiency, learning pace and goals differ, it is essential to provide lessons tailored to each individual.

With these points in mind, I have created original teaching materials covering speaking, grammar, vocabulary, writing and reading comprehension for beginners, intermediate and advanced learners respectively, to support you in learning Japanese as efficiently as possible.

To date, many of my students have passed the N1 (JLPT) or achieved great results in the HSC Japanese examination. It has been a great pleasure for me to build good relationships with my students over time and to be of service to them.

I love travelling and have visited over 30 countries to date. I enjoy eating, photography and writing essays. Engaging with diverse cultures and people enriches my life.

My classes welcome people of all nationalities, ages and genders. I look forward to sharing methods for improving your Japanese in an enjoyable and efficient way, whilst also spending meaningful time with you all through the process of learning Japanese.

-Teaching Japanese at a community language school in Sydney for 10 years. I teach high school students currently.

-Published 1 printed book and 4 digital books in Japan

-Writing essay for Japanese monthly magazine “Japaralia” being published in Sydney for 8 years

-Business consulting for Australian base companies based on working experience at Panasonic (Japan & Australia etc) for 17 years as strategic planning professional.

---Lessons---

◆Beginners Course (Study Japanese for the first time--- JLPT/N5 level)

-Start to Learn Hiragana, Katakana & Basic Grammar

-For absolute beginners, use an original teaching material called “ Japanese from scratch”.

-Using 100 original worksheets designed for beginners, you will learn the most essential grammar and vocabulary.

-Over the course of six months to a year, you will acquire a solid level of understanding of Japanese and discover the joy of learning the language.

◆Intermediate Course (JLPT/N4-N3 level)

-We will use original teaching materials tailored for intermediate learners, covering “Speaking”, “Vocabulary”, “Grammar” and “Reading comprehension”. We will also begin learning kanji in a step-by-step manner.

-The “Famous Places in Japan” series is used as supplementary teaching material. This enables students to learn Japanese in a fun and ongoing manner.

-I aim to help you acquire the ability to hold everyday conversations fluently in Japanese and pass the N3 exam.

◆Advanced Course (JLPT/N2-N1 level)

-We read sophisticated, high-quality texts and learn complex grammar as well as the meanings behind words.

-Offering practical one-to-one speaking training that will be useful for both studying in Japan and working with Japanese companies.

-You will develop the skills to speak fluently in Japanese on a variety of topics and to write essays.

-I aim to help you acquire advanced Japanese language skills, including “honorifics”, “compound words” and “idioms”, with a view to passing the N1 exam.

◆HSC Japanese Preparation Course (In-context, Extension, Continuers, Beginners?

-You will learn step by step so that you can get good marks in your high school exams.

-I help you with the assignments and homework set by your school.

-You will learn the grammar and vocabulary required for the HSC exams using my original teaching materials.

-We will work through past HSC exam papers together and provide model answers.

-We will be holding an intensive training session where you will practise speaking in Japanese for three minutes on a variety of topics.

-We practise speaking with correct pronunciation, using the grammar and vocabulary required for the HSC exams.

-I provide training in the skill of writing Japanese essays of between 400 and 800 characters on a variety of topics.

-I will mark and provide feedback on all the writing you produce, including school homework.

◆Business Consulting Course

-Creating presentations; translating business documents and materials

-Support for making business strategy and planning in Japanese

-Developing business Japanese skills for conducting business meetings and working with Japanese companies

-Practising for job interviews in Japanese, etc.

---My teaching method---

◆Speaking & Conversations

-We will select topics related to everyday life and practise speaking on a variety of subjects.

-You will learn correct pronunciation and grammar.

◆Vocabulary

-Students will learn vocabulary tailored to their individual needs, whether for the HSC Exam, JPTL or everyday conversation.

-You will gradually increase the number of vocabulary from N5 level to N1 level.

◆Grammar

-For beginners to intermediate learners, we use easy-to-understand PowerPoint presentations.

-Advanced learners will study the complex grammar, honorifics and subtle nuances specific to the Japanese language.

◆Reading

-Whilst learning vocabulary and grammar, you will read texts suited to your current level.

-By having the teacher and students take turns reading the dialogue, this also serves as conversation practice.

◆Writing

-I will mark all the essays you have written at home.

-Through writing, you can identify errors in grammar and expression and develop a higher level of Japanese language proficiency.
