I am from Japan. I have had five and a half years full-time work experience in a higher educational institution in Japan. I completed my Masters degree in the area of education at Newcastle University.

I would like to help people who are interested in Japanese language to improve their language skills by creating fun lessons which are designed to meet the needs of each student. For people who are thinking about visiting Japan for holidays or a working holiday, I can assist in their preparation.

For uni students who are learning Japanese, I can provide supplementary lessons.

I am willing to provide some handouts or worksheets to assist your study if you need them.

*COVID-19 response :
Since the advice that came from NSW Health and other health experts around the control and prevention of COVID-19 in March 2020, I have been conducting all of my lessons online (via video conferencing software called Zoom). I have plenty of experience teaching online for more than 6 years to students overseas or interstate.

Experience

I started doing private tutoring in Newcastle in 2013. I can teach anything from basic conversation right through to helping with preparation for language proficiency tests.

I also have experience teaching Japanese to high school students from Year 8 through to HSC level. My students have achieved first place in their respective high school classes for Japanese including those students attending selective and grammar schools.

In addition, I have previously been employed in a casual tutor position by the University of Newcastle to provide extra help to their Japanese language students.

I also have worked as an advisor to Japanese language learners for ALC Press Inc.

Qualifications

University:
- Master of Leadership and Management in Education with Distinction at The University of Newcastle
- Bachelor of Arts (Department of Business Administration) in Japan

Other:
- Advanced Japanese Teacher Training Course in Sydney

Rates

$50 per hour for one on one lessons.
