My Year 10 daughter has been tutored weekly by Yuko for over 2 years.
Yuko is a native Japanese speaker who has high level English communication skills. She is friendly, punctual and highly professional delivering lessons remotely over Zoom.
Yuko has detailed knowledge about level requirements for NSW Stage 5 Japanese, HSC Stage 6 courses, and the JLPT exams, but also tutors University students.
My daughter had an interest in Japanese language, but her school did not offer it in Stage 5. After a year of tutoring, my daughter completed the JLPT Level 5 (a Japanese Government recognised qualification) exam at UNSW last December and has been accepted into Year 11 Japanese Continues, despite not doing the Stage 4 school course. When in Japan earlier this year, my daughter could sustain lengthy conversations with people and could easily read signs when outside of Tokyo, where signs in English are less frequent.
My daughter always looks forward to her sessions with Yuko. My daughter is extremely fortunate to have found such a comprehensively excellent tutor.

Over the year-and-a-half that I spent studying under Yuko, my Japanese skyrocketed. Due to her excellent teaching I was able to consistently perform highly in my HSC Japanese course. She is always organised and and well prepared for each lesson, thoroughly covering every aspect of learning Japanese. I highly recommend her as a tutor because, not only is she a great teacher, she is a lovely person. |

Yuko has been teaching my son for over 3 years now and I cannot recommend her enough. She has been friendly, professional and helpful from day one.
Despite my son's nervousness when he started Yuko immediately put him at ease, and they have become friends. My son is now a confident and excellent speaker of Japanese who has won competitions and awards for his language abilities. I have no doubt Yuko can claim a share of that success.
Yuko was also flexible, never complaining if for any reason we had to cancel a weekly session, and always giving plenty of notice if she had to cancel herself.
All this for one of the cheaper rates we encountered when we were first looking.
As I said I cannot recommend Yuko highly enough. My son is about to undertake his HSC and has the confidence to sit the exam, and is even thinking of moving to Japan for a while, thanks to the education he received from Yuko. |

I have worked with many language teachers over the years and Yuko-san is one of the
best! She is always friendly, encouraging and easy to communicate with. She has a
very thorough knowledge of the Japanese language and is able to explain everything
clearly and simply (even when I ask the most difficult questions). Yuko is always well
prepared and spends heaps of time preparing lessons and thinking about an overall
direction for study. Yuko also provides fantastic learning materials and has great tips for
extra study ideas. I would heartily recommend Yuko to anyone wanting to study
Japanese - young or old, beginner or advanced. |

I highly recommend Yuuko Sensei to anyone seeking to improve Japanese efficiently or to
develop a good foundation when first starting. She is very patient, explains everything well
in English and highly knowledgeable. My Japanese improved quickly over the 6 months
and I learnt many things that one could only learn from a native speaker. |

Yuko is an extremely professional and friendly tutor. All learning resources are supplied; it is clear that a lot of work goes into designing lessons around the individual student. Best of all, lessons are fun and very clearly explained-by a native speaker, no less. Highly recommended. |

I would have no hesitation I recommending Yuko. I continue to see her regularly, several
