The programs I offer have been distilled from many years of experience working with children with diverse learning difficulties, having begun this work when my own daughter had severe reading and math difficulties. I tailor my evidence based approach to meet the unique needs of each learner.

I design individualized sessions with intention, carefully building on each student's progress to reinforce and expand their knowledge. By employing evidence-based instructional strategies, I help students gain confidence, which in turn boosts their motivation and engagement. As they witness their own progress, they develop a genuine enthusiasm for learning and a readiness to embrace new challenges.

Open communication is key in our sessions. I actively seek feedback from students about their experiences—what’s working, what isn’t, and how we can adjust our approach. This ongoing dialogue ensures that students and their families are always informed about progress and achievements.

Professional development in Dyslexia, ADHD, Dyscalculia, and Learning strategies, allow me to continue to integrate the current research into our sesssions.

My therapeutic background equips me to address not only academic content but also the emotional aspects of learning. I support students in overcoming anxiety and building self-esteem, guiding them to reflect on their learning styles, organizational strategies, and areas of strength.

I celebrate the unique perspectives of diverse learners and work collaboratively with students to recognize and harness the strengths associated with ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, and other learning profiles. Now, with the convenience of online sessions, I am excited to support kids and their families no matter where they are.

Solutions for families whose children are struggling with learning to read, write and do maths. I liaise with schools, support parents, and get results with kids. If you want to know that what you're doing will work, is backed by current evidence, and will give you the confidence to advocate for your child then I'd love to work with you. Patient, kind, and friendly of course, but also effective because the students need to see their effort is paying off as much as you do.

Qualifications

Degrees: Graduate Certificate of Education - Learning Difficulties, Bachelor of Arts (Anth), Masters in Counselling and Applied Psychotherapy, SPELD intervention Specialist, Cert IV in Education Support.
Short Course Training: SPELD and private professional development workshops in Dyscalculia and Dyslexia, La Trobe University Science of Language and Reading (SOLAR) short course, Supporting Children with difficulties in reading and writing (University of London).
Program Training: Cracking the ABC Code certified, (reading, spelling and writing), Sounds-Write certified. Lindamood Bell Visualising and Verbalising Certified.
Professionals Memberships: SPELD Specialist Educator, Certified Learning Difficulties Australia, Certified Member Australian Counselling Association
