Rima is a wonderful teacher. She tailors her lessons according to both the student’s interests and learning style. She’s taught both my children and myself in the same lesson and managed to juggle both really well. My partner and I have been attending Arabic lessons with Rima for around two years now. Rima is an exceptionally knowledgeable, patient an fun teacher. She provides an excellent in-class experience and is always responsive to questions. In addition to language skills, Rima also provides great insights into the culture of Arabic-speaking countries. We look forward to our time with Rima every week, and will continue to do so as long as she’s teaching. |

I love my Arabic lessons with Rima! Firstly, she is a joy to spend my time with. Rima goes at the right pace to suit my learning and in a structure that really helps me learn and understand. I am able to send homework and voice notes in between classes for extra pointers/corrections. She shows particular attention to detail with both my spoken and written words. I take weekly 2 hour classes, having the 2 hours together really gives us the time to revise previous weeks which helps to get my mind in gear and also cement my new learning before moving onto the next. |

I have been taking lessons with Rima for about a year now. I had some experience with the language (she definitely teachers beginners as well) and she has been able to tailor her lessons brilliantly to this. She also makes sure to include reading and writing exercises that are of specific interest to me which enables me to pick up relevant vocabulary. Rima is quick to respond and very flexible in her availability. She also teaches online which is a great help if you travel a lot or are not based in Canberra. I have recommended her lessons to several of my friends seeking to improve their Arabic. |

I also used to tutor language so I understand how difficult it can be. Rima is a natural teacher, she understands where my level was and how I was absorbing what she was teaching. She is able to catch how best or what I should focus on next and tailors her teaching to suit.
She is professional and doesn't waste time, every lesson I came away with improved arabic.

Rima was a fantastic tutor for our daughter. Her lessons are always very well organised and she has great strategies for engaging younger kids in the material. The location she organised for the lessons also really helps, being comfortable but also quiet to aid conversation and concentration. Definitely would recommend her for those with young children starting to get a grasp of Arabic! |

Rima is an outstanding tutor in the Arabic language, in both fuhsa/classical and dialect/modern styles. Rima is very flexible and adaptable in her approach to educating. She alters learning content based on a variety of student's needs, which she identifies as needing improvement during sessions before she moves on. She is smart, fun, respectful, hospitable and highly professional. I have attended weekly hourly lessons for about six months now and do not have any desire to change because Rima has continually extended my skills and knowledge in the language. |

Rima has been an excellent Arabic tutor, assisting me twice a week to reach limited working proficiency. I am largely self-studying, but lessons with Rima have added considerably to my experience in speaking, reading and listening. Talking to an actual person in the target language is always far better than using books and recordings alone. It has been very useful to have someone to correct pronunciation issues and she has been able to explain various grammatical concepts which I was confused about. Rima provides a range of supplemental materials, and is able to discuss aspects of Arabic culture as they arise. She is enthusiastic, flexible and reliable. I am very happy with her as a tutor. |

Rima is a very good tutor. She is very patient with beginners and knows very well what level to pace at to challenge you and increase your learning but not be overwhelming. Rima is a great Arabic tutor. I had lessons with her for two years, either with my friend or
one-on-one. She is professional, organised, friendly and patient. We started as complete
beginners and she taught us writing, reading and conversation through simple exercises
and at our own pace. She not only speaks Arabic fluently, as a native speaker, she also
understands it from a linguistics perspective and is able to explain and teach it to
beginners with absolutely no background in the language. It was helpful to have different
dialects explained and she would often provide examples of slang and phrases from
particular countries, as well as information about culture and geography. I highly
recommend Rima!! |

I have taken weekly lessons with Rima for almost half a year now. I studied Arabic
previously at university, however with time I have forgotten most of it and realised the
need to pick up the skills again. I contacted tutors on TutorFinder and found Rima to be
the most helpful and accommodating with time and location. Thus we started our

Rima is a brilliant tutor, she is always punctual and very prepared with reading material
for the lesson. She is very flexible and can adapt the course to the individual student's

I've been meeting with Rima on a weekly basis for about a year to improve my Arabic language
skills. As a student studying Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) in a formal environment I've found
Rima's assistance invaluable in implementing and consolidating my learning. She is very well
versed in both fusha (formal MSA) as well as Syrian and Levantine dialects and she has helped
me further my conversational skills of both formal and colloquial Arabic in an informal manner
outside the classroom.
Rima is very punctual and reliable, and is always really keen to undertake our lessons. She is well
prepared and a great judge of choosing material to suit her students level; yet she's also super
flexible and happy to help me with whatever I feel like working on, on the day. I've never felt like
Rima was just tutoring to make money, because her passion for Arabic (and for helping her
students excel) extends deeply into her lessons and is immediately visible in the way she teaches.
I would recommend Rima to anyone seeking assistance with their Arabic language from beginners
to highly proficient students. Above all, Rima has helped me to develop a greater understanding
and appreciation for the language, which has really driven my interest and desire to keep

I can highly recommend Rima as an Arabic tutor for both formal Arabic (fusha) and colloquial Syrian/Lebanese Arabic. She is also able to focus on Arabic for professionals, for example those working in the public service or journalism.
In the past I have found it difficult to find a tutor for the Syrian/Lebanese dialect who has the mindset of a teacher, but Rima was able to strike a perfect balance between teaching and conversation. She is a very experienced teacher, and this is evident in the structured approach she takes to lesson plans. She takes a holistic view of her students’ Arabic skills, encouraging me to work on my writing even when my focus was on speaking.
Rima is also highly flexible and creative in her delivery of lessons. For example, she tailored a plan for us to watch media programs from Syria and Lebanon together and discuss vocabulary stemming from the shows, which gave me a deeper insight into Arab culture.
As a person I found her very friendly, kind, and pleasant to work with. She is always willing to work with your timetable – I worked full-time and travelled often on weekends, and she was still able to accommodate me. Thankyou Rima! |

Rima is an excellent private tutor. She excels in maintaining a constant progression with her students through measured introduction of new material with each lesson. Her lessons flow logically and are never adhoc or disjointed.
