I began weekly tutoring with Anne-Marie during my first term of year 12 English advance. My original marks were sitting around 65-75 before receiving her service. Anne-Marie is the perfect tutor for you if you are willing to put in the work and effort to get the most out of each session. She is a tutor with a notable sense of humour,personality and professionalism from years of experience to create a pleasant and welcoming environment. Sessions included receiving feedback on handwritten responses by analysing strengths and weaknesses to highlight focus areas in your writing, understanding NESA verbs in their entirety,evaluating full mark responses and comparing them to your own work to identify similarities and differences, understanding how to achieve maximum marks in short answer responses, and diversifying your vocabulary to add sophistication to responses. For the price you pay, it is value for money. This is evident in my results going from a low C/B to a final HSC mark of 91, receiving a band 6 for English Advance. To assure maximum value, you must be prompt to put in the extra work by writing essays or responses before each session, otherwise, you may not get the most value out of each session. If you are not willing to put in the extra effort I would not recommend her as you are wasting your time and hers. Anne-Marie is the tutor for the job if you are a student looking to boost your English mark significantly and achieve a band 6. |

Annemarie’s tutoring saved my life! She truly improved my English skills and my appreciation for literature more than I ever imagined. I completed my English HSC exams two days ago (2022) and I have never been happier! (unless you are talking about that time I was allowed to dog-sit two of the most delightful puppies in the world).
I was able to complete pages of quality writing for both English and Modern History, and it is all thanks to Annemarie. She encouraged me, supported me and even occasionally brought my focus back to what was important. There was not a single article of work set by Annemarie I completed that did not benefit me and take my skills from barely a pass to A-range responses. The group English workshops Annemarie would host allowed me to discuss my work with other peers, and gain a higher understanding of the task at hand. My sub-par marks and disappointing attitude towards English at the end of Year 10 metamorphosised into an experienced I loved, envisioned and much to my younger self’s disbelief, grew to love it. Along with my positive attitude and improved marks, I gained much more from this experience.
I gained two new friends.
It began as a tutor-student relationship. I remember entering Annemarie’s tutoring room for the first time at the beginning of Year 11. I was overwhelmed with awe and joy. The bookcases containing hundreds of fascinating books, the colourful stationary and highlighters, the stack of intimidating papers in front of me. I was scared. I felt like I was dumped into the deep end of the ocean with the English sharks chasing me for dinner. Moving to the academically selective high school at the end of Year 10 was jarring, yet Annemarie made it easier. The experiences I had with Annemarie made me begin to enjoy school again. We began having cups of tea each lesson, lending each other books, and talking. We became friends. A friendship I hope to have for the rest of my life. However, she was not the only friend I made. One day, the student in the session after me arrived five minutes early. We began talking, and then we became friends. For each tutoring session we would have, she would arrive five minutes early and we would catch up. For each birthday or celebration, we would bring treats and talk over a cup of tea before we began tutoring. A friend I would not have without Annemarie’s tutoring sessions.
If you are considering hiring anyone else, you are erroneous. Annemarie’s tutoring is more than just tutoring. It is an enjoyable and wonderful experience that you cannot live without. Her diverse knowledge and panoply of skills ensure you have a safety net of information and help ready to catch you if you fall. Do you or your child the biggest favour and utilise this opportunity. A journey which begun in Year 7 and completed in Year 12, Annemarie taught me how to love english as a subject and eventually as a hobby. Her expertise in English through my journey at high school assisted me to become confident in both my essay and creative writing skills, whilst also extending my skills in spelling, grammar and punctuation. The journey towards the light at the end of the tunnel (being the HSC) is a hard one to say the least, however, made easier with the guidance, expertise, and insight of Annemarie.
Annemarie is beyond an amazing tutor, who has extensive years of experience in her field including HSC marking, having access to someone who has seen first hand what markers are looking for is invaluable for students. I have not known a teacher who is more dedicated to helping her students, more than Annemarie, she will go above and beyond to help you make sure you achieve the best mark possible, whether it be extra tutoring sessions even when she is fully booked, marking an essay the night before it's due and giving you crucial feedback or a simple phone call to her in your hour of need before an assessment. HSC (or whatever year you may be in), whenever you require help. Annemarie is always
available for questions, concerns, or feedback, and will definitely give you a little push if

I have known Anne-Marie for two years, starting English tutoring at the start of yr 11
and continued until the end of year 12. During this time I discovered Anne-Marie has a
caring and passionate nature towards all the students she tutors and persistent
approach, pushing all her students to reach their potential and achieve the best results
they can. She has an extensive range of knowledge on the HSC course, an endless
amount of resources (short answer and essay questions) and provides in depth
feedback. Personally, Anne-Marie has built up my confidence levels and with the
endless amounts of feedback, I have been able to improve the quality of my work and
my overall marks at school. Not only is Anne-Marie a fabulous tutor, she is a great
person who is easy to talk to and someone I have created a lasting friendship with. |

independently and ranges in assisting with basic writing skills to complex analysis and
creative writing of Extension English. Her extensive knowledge across all humanities
subjects (modern history, ancient history, English [adv, std and ext], religion, etc) has
allowed my progression as a student to not only excell in one area but across all areas
allowing me to truly achieve my highest. AnneMarie's persistence is evident in her
constant encouraging to strive for the best and is available at always despite time or

My English before Anne-Marie was elementry and if not disappointing but thanks to her
hard work, unlimited resources (both educational and intellectually) and her no crap
policy. She has drastically improved my results for this coming HSC.
