I met Ibu Minarni while studying at the Victorian School of Languages. She was my language teacher for 2 years as I went through VCE Indonesian SL.
As a student who entered VCE studies a year early, Ibu Minarni ensured that I was able to follow the academic rigor of the curriculum, and went out of her way to support me whenever I required additional assistance.
With her continued support, I achieved a perfect score in the subject, followed by a Premier’s Award.
To me, Ibu’s teaching extended beyond the curriculum, allowing her students to have a strong understanding of the Indonesian culture and people. I believe this knowledge cannot be taught from a textbook, and ultimately, is more valuable than just learning the language itself.
Overall, Ibu Minarni is an outstanding teacher in the subject of Bahasa Indonesia, and any student would be lucky to have her as a teacher/tutor. |

Ibu Minarni was an amazing Indonesian teacher/tutor when I was completing VCE Units 1/2 and 3/4 Indonesian SL from 2020-2021.
In 2021, I was hardly passing my Year 11 SACs and my speaking and writing skills were extremely poor. I could hardly put together a grammatically correct sentence. However, Ibu Minarni spotlighted my (many) weaknesses and thoroughly worked with me to improve them every lesson, while also highlighting my strengths. She was very straightforward, honest, and extremely encouraging in my learning of this language - the ideal attributes of a teacher every hard-working student needs. She not only improved my marks and overall ability in the subject, but also my confidence.
At the end of 2021, under the tutelage and support of Ibu Minarni, I finished VCE Indonesian averaging 93% in SACs, and with a final study score of a raw 40 (top 9% in Victoria) - scaled 46. I am so grateful for Ibu Minarni and would definitely recommend her for anyone interested in improving their Indonesian language skills and achieve amazing things.
I have to note that I was not requested to write this review whatsoever. But I truly believe that if you or your child are 1) seeking to improve your Indonesian/Malay language skills, 2) willing to work-hard and receive constructive criticism and 3) wanting to achieve your language-based goals or even surpass your own expectations - then Ibu Minarni is the perfect teacher for you. |

Minarni was a fantastic Indonesian tutor to my son completing VCE Units 1/2 and 3/4 Indonesian (as a second language).
She was thorough, attentive and an expert in the language. She has a great attitude and was very enthusiastic to help with both school work and extra tasks. Minarni also provided my son with additional worksheets which he found very useful in the development of vocabulary.
Minarni definitely improved his marks in the subject and improved his overall ability in the subject.
I would recommend Minarni for anyone interested in improving their Indonesian studies. |
